About the artist

A woman appears in almost all of Ada Breedveld's paintings. A voluminous, always happy smiling woman, surrounded by an ever-changing decor of decorative patterns. These motifs, such as fish, birds and flowers, symbolize sexual vigor, growth and vitality. In an Utopian sense, it is all about the essence of women. She is the goddess mother, lover, bon vivant.
