Giclée printing: Watch the video
We print the reproductions on museum-quality canvas of 380g. Printing a Giclée is done with the utmost precision. The HDR inks are sprayed on the canvas layer by layer, with 800 nozzles per colour x 10 channels for a total of 8000 nozzles. This technique guarantees over 100 years of colour permanence. The end result is characterized by great fineness and image depth, very high sharpness, detail and deep colours.

Varnish: Watch the video
We then apply several coats of varnish by hand to make the colours come to life and to protect against moisture and UV light. The canvas is stretched by hand on stretcher bars made with timber from sustainable forestry.

About the original artwork
Tree Trunks in the Grass

This reproduction on canvas of Tree Trunks in the Grass by Vincent van Gogh is made in close cooperation with the Krӧller-Müller Museum, where the original painting is hanging in the Van Gogh Gallery. In this painting Van Gogh pursues with his style of painting forests in his own original way. He focuses on the ground, the base of the trunks and the low vegetation, such as ivy, grass and small plants. While he is in Saint-Rémy at the asylum he continues to paint this type of close-up of a piece of grassland with flowers and the trunks of two pine trees. The rough bark of the pine trees is almost completely abstract, at the same time the grass field with white flowers and the yellow dandelions seem to have a certain sophistication.

By emphasizing the foreground - the trees and the grass - and using a strong diagonal, he creates a powerful spatial effect. He writes to his friend Emile Bernard: I exaggerate, I sometimes make changes to the subject, but still I do not invent the whole of the painting; on the contrary, I find it ready-made - but to be untangled - in the real world.
