Museum MORE is a museum in Gorssel, in the province of Gelderland, which is dedicated to Dutch modern-realistic art (the name is an abbreviation of MOdern REalism). It is located in the former town hall of Gorssel, which was expanded to include seven exhibition spaces.
The extension was designed by Hans van Heeswijk. Less than a year after the opening to the public on 2nd of June 2015, the museum was able to welcome its one hundred thousandth visitor. A second branch of Museum MORE, Kasteel Ruurlo, was opened on 23rd of June 2017.
Here you can find the collection with paintings by Carel Willink and the extravagant dresses designed by fashion designer Fong Leng for Carel Willink’s first wife Mathilde. The collection of Hans Melchers is housed in Museum MORE and consists of a large number of works by Dutch modern-realistic artists, especially painters. The collection consists of works by Carel Willink, Jan Mankes, Pyke Koch, Dick Ket, Raoul Hynckes, Wim Schuhmacher, Charley Toorop, Jan Beutener, Co Westerik, Barend Blankert, Philip Akkerman, Erwin Olaf and Annemarie Busschers.
